We grow up thinking bravery is loud, fearless, and bold.
But in reality? It often feels like your heart racing, hands shaking, and a little voice saying, “𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘧 𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘯’𝘵?”
Bravery isn’t the absence of fear — it’s choosing to move forward in spite of it. It’s the quiet courage of showing up, speaking up,
or taking the first step when everything inside you says, “𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘺 𝘪𝘵 𝘴𝘢𝘧𝘦.”
It looks like:
• Applying for the job you’re not sure you’re qualified for
• Having the hard conversation you’ve avoided
• Saying yes to something new, even with doubt
• Walking into a room where you feel like you don’t belong – but going anyway
• Admitting you need help and allowing yourself to receive it
“Courage is not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it.”
Fear and bravery walk side by side.
I felt this:
– when I started my first job, in a role I wasn’t trained for.
– when I left my job, without having a new one lined up.
– when I jumped from R&D to a commercial role.
– when I left corporate and started my own business.
If you’re feeling fear right now.
It doesn’t mean you’re failing,
It means you’re growing.
You don’t have to feel fearless to be brave.
You just have to keep going.
“Courage is not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it.”
