You’re so brave! they told me…

You're so brave! they told me...

Taking the leap wasn’t the hardest part.

5 yrs ago, my pivot as a leadership coach required me to give up a lot. I gave up:

• a 6-figure paycheck

• a Fortune 500 company

• a global network of people

• a stream of projects and teams

• my SME reputation in insights

• stability and certainty

But I was looking for a new chapter. And each of these things, tied me down.

The brain is wired to hold on to things,it’s called Loss Aversion. It turns out, the pain of losing outweighs the joy of gaining. Even if what you’re getting is 10X better.

That means… it’s even harder to let go when the future you’re moving towards isn’t guaranteed, like finding a new job, pivoting industries, or starting your own business.

But if you truly want to fly…the only way up is to drop the heavy baggage. (The rules of physics).

“Leap of faith means trusting yourself enough to overcome fear's whispers.”

I don’t regret a thing. I am so grateful that I took the chance on myself. I created the next chapter of my career that fits what’s most important to me at this time of my life:

–    A purpose I am proud of

–    A lifestyle that supports the scheduling demands of my kids’ activities

–    A way to meet amazing professionals who lead amazing impact around the world

–    A career that challenges me to continue growing

But I had to let go of a lot of things first, to make room for this.

Free yourself, so you can spread your wings and fly with freedom.
