Are you somebody who doesn’t love the chit-chat before meetings or when meeting new people?
I get it. That was me too.
So, what do you do then, besides just sitting there in awkward silence?
There’s one question that enabled me to quickly connect with someone without having to talk about the weather or the weekend.
It helped me to learn more about other people and the projects that they’re working on.
This question broadened my understanding of what was going on outside ‘my little bubble’.

“So, tell me, what are you working on that you’re excited about?”
That’s it.
You see, when someone talks about what they’re excited about, the energy level just goes up to another level. And those conversations are so much fun.
You learn where they are trying to make a difference. You learn how they think. You can just hear their passion for what they’re doing – meaning you learn more about them too.
You learn so much through that one question.
And the best leaders are always looking for opportunities to learn.
