A hard thing about this time of year…

I had to admit… I was struggling.

 

I had so many things on my to do list. There wasn’t enough time. I felt overwhelmed. And I didn’t have the energy or motivation to do it.

 

I often feel like this before a holiday.

 

Wrapping up work stuff. Finishing all the things. Preparing for travel. All the logistics. I had been unproductive and dreaded the coming day.

 

And then I remembered… I can change this.

 

Just because I was in a funk,

doesn’t mean I have to stay there.

 

So I decided. Now’s the time.

 

And then I did these 3 things:

 

✅ 𝐈 𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠.

 

→ Focus streamlines your brain to function, so all the necessary neuropathways can fire together.

 

✅ 𝐈 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐲 “𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐞” 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐞.

 

→ Music evokes emotion, and emotion triggers your brain to release chemicals that change how you feel.

 

✅ 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐈 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠.

 

→ Movement increases blood flow, sending more oxygen through your body and brain, so it functions even better. 30 seconds of jumping jacks is all you need.

 

The next time you need some motivation and energy, remember:

🔹 Movement creates Momentum
