Don’t let perfection sneak in…

Don't let perfection sneak in...

As the year comes to a close, I wanted to take a moment to wish you a peaceful holiday season and a joyful, grounded start to the new year!

This time of year often brings reflection—sometimes quietly, sometimes unexpectedly.

We think about what worked.

What didn’t.

What we pushed through.

What we’re still carrying.

Here’s the small reminder I want to offer you as we turn the calendar:

You don’t need to have everything figured out before moving forward.

“Try to learn to love the questions themselves.”

So many leaders I work with feel pressure to close the year strong or start the next one perfectly.

Clear goals. Clear plans. Clear confidence.

But clarity doesn’t usually arrive all at once.

It builds when we slow down enough to notice what’s true.

What energized you this year?

What drained you?

Where did you feel most like yourself?

Those answers matter more than a perfectly written plan.

As you step into the new year, my hope for you is this:

  • Less noise

  • More intention

  • And the courage to listen to what’s already been quietly guiding you

One simple practice I love for this moment is choosing one intention word for the year ahead.

Not a resolution.

Not a pressure-filled goal.

Just a word that becomes a compass.

A word you can return to when decisions feel heavy.

When you need to remember how you want to lead and live.

If you’ve already chosen a word for 2026, I’d love to hear it!

Just reply to this email with your word, and I’ll share mine too.

And if you haven’t yet—maybe this week is the space to let it surface.

However you’re spending the holidays, resting, celebrating, navigating complexity, or simply catching your breath,

I’m grateful you’re here and part of this community of authentic, purpose-driven leaders.

If the Wednesday Wicket helps you feel a fresh sense of energy each week,

I’d be grateful if you shared it with someone in your life – a friend, a family member, colleague, or neighbor. Your recommendation is one of the most important ways our community grows.

Wishing you growth, clarity, and forward momentum in the year ahead ✨
