It was a disaster…

November 13, 2024

It was a disaster...

During the pandemic, I was let go.

(And it was the best thing that ever happened).

I remember thinking: How could this happen when I was one of the top performers?

(Company joint venture yielded duplicate departments & roles).

I could have focused on the negative. I could have settled for something available vs. something I really wanted.

Instead, I turned that setback into my biggest advantage.

I took the opportunity to start my own business, now running into its 5th year, doing what I love 💜

“You can’t let your failures define you. You have to let your failures teach you.”

5 things helped me bounce back and perform better than ever:

1. Failures are opportunities in disguise

Their disruption allowed me to stop and look around.

Rejection gave me the chance to do something new.

2. Progress over perfection

I was consistently learning and pushing the envelope.

Building new skills gave me an edge over others.

3. Your mindset is your foundation

Leadership is 90% mental. Shifting to what I could control.

Focus, hard work, attitude – changed everything.

4. Meaning matters

I made smart decisions, but I also listened to my heart.

Connecting to what’s important fuels me.

5. Your difference is your superpower

I stepped in my authenticity.

My results took off.

Don’t let one failure define your future.

You’re always one lesson away from a win.
